Episode 7
Episode 8
Episode 9
So exactly how into this the the Sheriff, was he removed from the hospital by himself just walked out of there or did he have help? He took the high explosive container with him so god knows what he is planning to blow-up. My guess is using it to tie to one of his victims and try and lure someone to do something stupid ala SAW.
Finding the kid and the remains of the other missing girl and being forced down in to the lair of the sheriff was a pretty tense moment in the show I must give them. So now we know how the killer has been moving around the house undetected all this time and listening to peoples conversations. He has massive amounts of trap making skills and engineering, electrical skills and mad stalking and hunting skills to boot.
I had started to suspect that Ashley Mills where in fact Wakefield daughter and after that was revealed in the journal, it seamed a good match barring any red hearings. I also think that the little girl Madison also could be a Wakefielder, her mother could have had an affair with Wakefield prior to becoming a trophy wife or something similar.
I have finished the show and as I watched all the episodes in rapid succession I didn’t have time top write stuff down so this is the last post in the series unless I get really bored and re-watch the series and finish the last few episodes.
Here is a little update on my current situation, I’ve been sick all Easter weekend and haven’t been able to do anything useful but I have been able to watch a whole bunch of crappy movies and run a few instances in WoW. Among the good things I watched was the start of series Five of Dr.Who and hopefully it will live up to the hype as Wrestle Mania this year didn’t live up to the tremendous build, but Ill get into Wrestling a bit later.
So here are my thoughts on the films I have watched during the Easter holiday in no particular order, I might have forgotten one or two films.
Perkins 14
The story sounded good, but the end result was far from good! This was a Zombie flick without Zombies, the main villains where in fact victims that had been kidnapped and turned into psycho-cannibal-zombies with the help of isolation and drugs, mainly PCP. The movie started out decent enough looked like a 70′s Italian horror movie, like Susperia, so I actually thought it had potential. It then degenerated into the psychological thriller where we saw the decline of the main characters sanity, well he didn’t have much sanity to begin with. The main plot centred around the main character trying to rescue his son that got abducted ten years ago, and the main character has started to doubt himself if he actually did enough to rescue/find his sin.
Twilight New Moon
Never got into the Twilight craze and I thought the first movie was rubbish and a waste of time. The second was slightly better than the first one on a few points but overall it lacked a compelling story and it was told in such a way that you blatantly knew that you have missed out on several story elements. This was very obvious with the entire wolf pack storyline, and this was despite the movie being over two hours long, the directors cut is probably going to be a lot longer. I was surprised that the female lead, don’t remember what she was called was geniunly surprised that Jacob and the others where Werewolf’s! Even when they saved her from the deadlock vampire she didn’t figure it out! Is she the mayor of thick-town?
Cant be bothered writing any more just yet there is more posts on the way if i can finish them this week. I have a few more movies to write small reviews and random thoughts about. And there is a larger post about WrestleMania and the retirement of HBK in the works, I have a fun time remembering things that I have forgotten on the topic of why I like wrestling and what I remember from my childhood and things i will miss now that my all time favourite wrestler has retired, I even shed a tear or two but more on that in a later post now I’m off to Azeroth and run a few random dungeons just to relax.
I haven’t read an actual book novel in quite a long time, so I’m looking into a few different books from different authors and genres to relax with. Been starting to ask around and getting a few tips from friends, that might have a similar taste in books as me. These are some of the different books I have come across and hopefully you my readers will get at least one new book idea, I don’t know if the books are any good but at least they sounded interesting, or had a nice cover. The first two books are in English and my third and final selection for this time is a Swedish horror novel that according to people is well worth the time.

The Line by Teri Hall
An invisible, uncrossable physical barrier encloses the Unified States. The Line is the part of the border that lopped off part of the country, dooming the inhabitants to an unknown fate when the enemy used a banned weapon. It’s said that bizarre creatures and superhumans live on the other side, in Away. Nobody except tough old Ms. Moore would ever live next to the Line.
Nobody but Rachel and her mother, who went to live there after Rachel’s dad died in the last war. It’s a safe, quiet life. Until Rachel finds a mysterious recorded message that can only have come from Away. The voice is asking for help.
Who sent the message? Why is her mother so protective? And to what lengths is Rachel willing to go in order to do what she thinks is right?
This sounds like a interesting story, but Im not sure its my type of book, but I’m going to give it a shoot anyway.
World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks
If you’re reading this, you must have survived. It may seem too soon to look back at what went wrong and what went right as we all struggled with the terror of the dead refusing to stay dead. But now, as we come to terms with the fact that our lives are forever changed and work to stamp out the last of the undead hordes (be they frozen in the arctic or creeping across the ocean floor), the time is right for examining the past–so as to choose a better future. Max Brooks gives us this opportunity. As the author of the first Zombie Survival Guide, Brooks is uniquely qualified to present the stories of World War Z’s veterans. That he was appointed by the United Nations to do so gave him unprecedented access and the credentials to reach even the most reclusive of survivors. Know this: You’re not alone.
Got this tip from the D6G and hopefully its a good read. Have never been into Zombie books but this can be a worthwhile start to reading Zombie books as the Zombie genre have experienced a boom in the last few years.
Fjärilen från Tibet by C.J Håkanssons
This is the only recap i could find of this book, its in Swedish but so is the book so if you cant read the recap the book isn’t for you anyway.
But It has cannibalism, birdmen amongst other things so this will probably be a good read. But in some reviewers said that its not suited for a late night read, and as I scare easily I will probably read this during the day in a well lit room.
I have been having a little old TV show revival for the last months and found some old shows and movies that I used to watch or have partially watched. It all started with me watching old Dr.Who stories and found that I haven’t watched any of the older stories at all, I must have watched a few of the third doctor stories because I remember the UNIT mansion and some big force field or similar things. I definitely remember the Baker years because that’s what was shown late nights in the late 80′s early 90′s on BBC here in Sweden.
The old stories I have gotten around to watching are these in no particular order:
Three Doctors, one of the best episodes I have watched so far. Nice to see the different doctors all acting together.
Time Warrior, fun to see the Sontarens in the older shows, I have never seen the Sontarens before the new series.
Dark Shadows arrived but I haven’t watched the show yet so I don’t know how It stacks up with my memories of the show. And I’m probably going to be writing a few posts about that show as I’m watching it.
Kolchak the night stalker another show I have only seen a few episodes off before. But I managed to track down it and will watch it in the next coming weeks and render my verdict on it.
OK this episode was a good episode as they got things accomplished, got some new facts and lost some dead weight from the island. Some of my favourite moments of the show was the scenes where the ring showed up at the bar and the hill-billy had proposed to his girlfriend and the English doctor wanted it back.
Other things they got done this episode where finding the pieces of uncle Marty, not much to say other than the emo brother was behaving more stupidly than normal. Don’t get the deal with him trying to get everyone to suspect him of killing all the people, he goes out of his way to be suspicious and killeresk, see I invented a new word.
Bringing the people to the attic and showing them the evidence of the obsessed father/sheriff thinking that Wakefield is still alive and well.
Ok they dug up the grave of the murderer Wakefield and found a skeleton, I don’t believe that this was the body of the real killer. I still think they are trying to swerve us viewers. I hope to good this don’t turn into heroes or pro-wrestling where they swerve just for the sake of swerving.
Emo brother knows the burnt redneck guy that had his dog killed by the now decided father of the bride, I like not remembering the names of the characters and making up little names for them.
That’s all for this time, check back with you all later.
Ok the fourth episode was a bore for the most part, they found Hunters body but couldn’t identify him took uncle Marty’s money. One of the guys shot himself and died while trying to hid the money. I wont go into that in detail because I didn’t like that story arch at all, the fat bumbling-but-likable character seemed to be taken from Lost, not my favourite character he will probably die in a few episodes as they need to milk the story arch they set up first. Him being sad and paranoid because he took the money and hid the body of the english guy out in the woods.
There is the psychic little girl who is all strange and somber, I hope to good that they aren’t going with poltergeists and ghosts but I have a sick feeling that’s where they are headed…I just hope the Winchesters show up and kill all the Supernatural things as Bobby is undercover as the main girls father and Sheriff of the town. jokes aside they better not go the supernatural ghost route that would so spoil the mood and setting for the show.
On to the fifth episode I predict that the goth brother will die as he has connected with the little girl. Other than that I have no real clue who will die maybe the old lady that the main girls high school love interest have been helping and driving around the island. This is probably the logical route as the killer wants to single out the main girl and he already killed the emo-girl as she was connecting with her long lost friend, Abby Mills was her name couldn’t remember it before.
I like it that the characters ignore the people missing and dead, the missing people they just leave messengers on their cellphones. They just assume that they gone home or hooked up with some girl/boy they are on a freaking island…
Now they start to miss the reverend as they need to sort out the rehearsal dinner for the wedding. BTW I’m writing this as I watch the episode so these are my thoughts as events unfold.
Cool a pagan sacrifice on the altar in the church, so no one have been in to the church for days. And back in the woods cue the inbreed rednecks with killer dogs, humming dueling banjos to myself. I’m starting to think that the redneck will kill the father of the bride because he killed his dog, or something lame as that. Why did the redneck leave the dog there and not stay himself, just stupid writing.
OK so there is lots of Wakefield’s running around killing people, so that’s their plan if the series gets a second or third season as they cant keep killing the wedding guests for too much longer.
OK so I was wrong the father of the bride got it in the church with a shovel. They found the reverent dead and dismembered, so now they know for sure that there is a killer on the island. There where some scenes earlier in the episode with the little kid talking about her friends and such they are so going with the I see dead people gimmick, I only see stupid people. OK that was the fourth and fifth episode of Harper’s Island more episodes will follow.
Ill start of with the tagging issues as they aren’t that interesting, but Ill write about it anyway. I’m going to start adding more tags to my posts and do some META tagging changes in the near future. The reason for this is to help me and you selected few readers to find thing that might interest you in my blogging. As I use this blog as my one and only blog I need to start putting more effort into the tags to make it easier to read and sort.

Due to friends recommending a show called Harper’s Island I have started to watch it and have so far seen the first three episodes and here are my initial thoughts about it. And as customary with these reviews or what you might call them there will be spoilers so if you haven’t seen it don’t read this.
The intro to the first episode was totally awesome and had me hooked from the start and wanting more. Given I like serial killer shows and movies and lighthouses and islands always makes for creepy and scary settings this show delivers. The big tree with the hanging bodies where a nice and scary image, this made me think about the two Swedish murder mysteries series called Graven and Morden. Then the actual show starts and I’m sorely disappointed with the whole boat scene it felt forced and not appealing, and the stereotypical characters where one dimensional, but the premise and overall feel of the show kept me watching. There is a plethora of C and D grade celebs/actors people you recognize but cant really place, or at least I had problems with it. Speaking of stereotypical characters ofc. the biggest douche in the first episodes is called Hunter that name screams douchbag, I just thought that funny.
Some questions I had when watching the first few episodes:
- Who left the candles on the Wakefield grave? why didn’t the characters find it odd, as the killer wasn’t even allowed to be buried on hallow ground?
- Why didn’t the Sheriff kill Wakefield was it his brother or something lame like that?
OK high level spoiler alert coming up, concerning people being killed. I find it sad that the emo/goth girl bought the farm in the second episode. I actually thought that character could have been fun to have around, given her high level paranoia and emo-ness, they could have killed the emo/goth brother instead as I didn’t find him that interesting. Why did they kill the priest, to stop the wedding or some other reason. I get the feeling that you could possibly have two killers on the island and possibly not all the murders are connected. Another thing that bothered me where the traps all over the island, they said that there where rumours of traps on the island but none until now have come across them. And now all of a sudden people run into traps all over the place.
Even though I wanted the emo-chick to live here death scene was very good, I like the touch with the eyes and the statue with the red gems for eyes and the picture the sheriff found. there are some really good and creepy scenes that are well directed and set up but then we cut back to the 90210 style acting and plots. I know probably that’s the point having big differences between things but I almost feels like they have two different directors or writer for the different style scenes.
OK that’s my initial thoughts about the first three episodes, I will do more of these style posts in the future as its fun to write them.
Its not been a good week to be a cat this week, two off my friends had cats die this week. Although the cats where both over 12 years they had a good life, but losing a pet is never easy. I have had to put down my fair share of cats over the years and it never gets any easier, but at least they didn’t have to suffer and be neglected as many animals.
But on to something less depressing then, I recently found out about a epically bad film company called The Asylum which specializes in producing ripoffs of blockbuster movies, really bad movies at that. Some examples of this is are Snakes on a Train, The Da Vincie Treasure and the movie I have heard so much about Transmorphers.
The movie that caught my attention was Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus I always had a weak point for shark movies ever since watching Jaws as a kid.

There are some awfully epic scenes in this movie, particularly the one when the shark takes down a airliner, all the shark scenes are all ripoffs from Jaws, but designed to top them. The airline scene tops the Helicopter scene from Jaws II, taking out a full sized military frigate made me think off we need a bigger boat from the original Jaws.
They also said that Sharkzilla swam at a speed of 500 knots, and they are practically indestructible and they hate each other shark vs octopus. All common sense and laws of physics are thrown out the window in this movie, or so I though as this blogger explained the physics behind the shark killing the airplane.

Been listening to the latest Vlogs from the spoonyone, and realised that we have lots of things in common.
First is about a movie that I’m going to track down because Ill probably enjoy it. Ill re-link it here just to spread the word around of this movie.
Pontypool
Update: Added the name of the movie, which I forgot last night.
a DVD or several actually, laying here all alone in bed, not all alone I have Timothy Loki Ear licker Biscuits here to keep my legs warm. Was watching old youtube clips and I just got the urge to see if a movie called Delinquent by Peter Hall could be found at this time and low and behold in august this year the actually released it to DVD. This is a movie I first saw at a film festival and thought it was brilliant and have been looking for a decent copy a few times a year or so ever since. This was way back in 1994 – 95 or something when I first saw it and have been longing to re-watch it ever since. So I ordered it promptly and hopefully it will arrive before Christmas.
And I also decided to order another DVD this time its the vampire classic Dark Shadows, Dark Shadows is a Gothic soap opera that originally aired between 1966 – 1971. The DVD i ordered is the remake from 1991 a 12 episode TV-production that I remembered watching a few episodes on TV in the early 90′s while I still played Vampire: The Masquerade (RPG). I remembered getting a decoder and subscribing to SCIFI channel and they ran the original series of Dark shadows late at night and early mornings so I watched a few episodes here and there when It was on. But there are so many episodes I hardly got any of the story arcs clear as i wasn’t watching enough episodes. I’m looking forward to the remake with Johnny Depp and Tim Burton if it ever gets of the ground.

UPDATE: Added imdb links for the movies
