I have at least five or six started blogs right now, some are harder to write than others apparently. And there is movie clips from different travels and events that need to be sorted out and edited, two dance nights and one karaoke night.
And on top of that I wanted to write a little piece about the CoC scenario Lighthouse and try and do a recap of sorts of yr events that transpired on that mist covered island. Another related project is to start chronology the longest Rolemaster camping I have Game-mastered and retelling the trials and tribulation of the characters, though much of the information still remains missing I will set up and map part on the role-playing part of the site and the people can if they want partake in the discussions surrounding the project, this project has borrowed from many published campaigns and grew out of my idea of expanding on the world engulfing Lore that exists in Shadow World and adding some new and exiting twists to the story. Too bad I don’t socialise with the people that where involved with that campaign so much any more. But the small notes I still have left is a suitable starter point and will be enough to get a skeleton together and I will have to flesh out the details that I don’t remember.
The HBK blog post I find the hardest to write because it has been such a big part of my life for so long, and nothing will ever come close to the emotional level I feel watching HBK preform.

Here is a little update on my current situation, I’ve been sick all Easter weekend and haven’t been able to do anything useful but I have been able to watch a whole bunch of crappy movies and run a few instances in WoW. Among the good things I watched was the start of series Five of Dr.Who and hopefully it will live up to the hype as Wrestle Mania this year didn’t live up to the tremendous build, but Ill get into Wrestling a bit later.
So here are my thoughts on the films I have watched during the Easter holiday in no particular order, I might have forgotten one or two films.
Perkins 14
The story sounded good, but the end result was far from good! This was a Zombie flick without Zombies, the main villains where in fact victims that had been kidnapped and turned into psycho-cannibal-zombies with the help of isolation and drugs, mainly PCP. The movie started out decent enough looked like a 70′s Italian horror movie, like Susperia, so I actually thought it had potential. It then degenerated into the psychological thriller where we saw the decline of the main characters sanity, well he didn’t have much sanity to begin with. The main plot centred around the main character trying to rescue his son that got abducted ten years ago, and the main character has started to doubt himself if he actually did enough to rescue/find his sin.
Twilight New Moon
Never got into the Twilight craze and I thought the first movie was rubbish and a waste of time. The second was slightly better than the first one on a few points but overall it lacked a compelling story and it was told in such a way that you blatantly knew that you have missed out on several story elements. This was very obvious with the entire wolf pack storyline, and this was despite the movie being over two hours long, the directors cut is probably going to be a lot longer. I was surprised that the female lead, don’t remember what she was called was geniunly surprised that Jacob and the others where Werewolf’s! Even when they saved her from the deadlock vampire she didn’t figure it out! Is she the mayor of thick-town?
Cant be bothered writing any more just yet there is more posts on the way if i can finish them this week. I have a few more movies to write small reviews and random thoughts about. And there is a larger post about WrestleMania and the retirement of HBK in the works, I have a fun time remembering things that I have forgotten on the topic of why I like wrestling and what I remember from my childhood and things i will miss now that my all time favourite wrestler has retired, I even shed a tear or two but more on that in a later post now I’m off to Azeroth and run a few random dungeons just to relax.
This is only going to be a quick little post to just get some things down on digital paper before it start with all the work that needs to be finished this week. Haven’t had time to write anything significant for a while now, I have several things half finished and I intend to finish up those things before I start something new at least.
Spent the weekend at my Dads in Vilhelmina and there will be pictures put up from that trip and a few movies, when I have time to edit them together. I still have lots of unfinished video footage from last year that Im planning on making available online at YouTube, think I have over 4gb of raw footage that needs editing. There are some nice winter landscape shots looking out over the seven parishes, and you could see for miles and miles and even some Elk.
I’m looking forward to this years WrestleMania but I have only gotten as far as two weeks out from Breaking Point last year so I have lots of storyline to catch-up with before its time for Michaels vs. Taker II and all the other exiting matches, this will probably be the best WrestleMania I have seen in a long time.
I have tried to watch all the MMA PPV’s but I have been losing interest as I haven’t been able to keep up with story lines and don’t know the back story of the fighters. But I was intrigued by the rumours that Tito got kicked from the TuF#11 show, but it turned out to be a case of the flue which saw him hospitalized, so no extra drama there. And Randy Couture has gotten himself a new and maybe first tattoo, which don’t look too bad. Apparently the Latin reads “Iron sharpens Iron”

This is the epic post Elimination Chamber video package for Shawn vs Taker @WM26

So Ghost Light is postponed until next week, so this gives me a little more time prepare. I haven’t managed to copy the handouts yet, and still need to do some setting up during this week.
In the next few months I’m going to finish up many unfinished courses that I have accumulated over the years, and hopefully get a part time job while I’m at it. So during these next few months I won’t have much time for hobbies, I will try and get some role-playing in and some more Battlefield BC2 BETA which I haven’t gotten around to this past week.
And this week has been hectic so I haven’t been willing or able to train this week, I can’t remember when I actually got around to the gym. Hopefully this will change in the future maybe even today.
Now on to something completely different; I have been catching up on some old wrestling shows both WWE and TNA, currently I’m two weeks out from Night of Champions in 2009. First off TNA is still really weird, the last TNA Impact! I watched was a few months before this episode. But It still starts the same way Main Event Mafia comes out and cuts the same promo as they always does, bitching about the TNA management and how they will take over the show, yet again. Then after they laid out Mick Foley and the former Main Event Mafia security, Double J runs in and hits Foley over the head with a guitar and actually busts himself open with the shrapnel from the guitar shot. More backstage segments, one thing that strikes me about TNA is the amount of segments and promos that don’t go any ware at all, they change from promos to backstage interviews and back again. There was at least 20 minutes of promos before the first match and that was Cody Deaner vs. someone think It was amazing red, what was the buildup for this match have they been feuding, the commentators didn’t mention it so I guess this was just filler before the next batch of promos. I almost forgot the loooong and tedious video montages just showing matches set to music that they keep putting together to waste even more time. Just remembered the short clips with one performer speaking some lame tagline that I can’t remember right now, and too lazy to look up.
OK enough of TNA and on to WWE the things I have the most problems with at the moment with the WWE product is the never ending Orton vs. HHH feud as its not interesting enough, but I really like the CM Punk segments that’s what keeps me watching. Actually there are many great feuds with good matches from the bigger stars. Can’t believe that mark Henry is getting a face pop, but that’s just funny but it won’t last for long. All the great Khali and Kane stuff needs to go it’s just stupid and will only lead to boring matches. Other than that I haven’t a problem with the WWE product there are good feuds and that outweighs the bad by a long shot at the moment. I’m only three weeks into the guest hosts so it has been good so far Batista and the million dollar man did a good job, Seth Green was ok, I was dreading that Orton would have to sell for Seth Shane O’mac style but that didn’t happen so that was a relief.
As most people that know me already know I’m trying to get in better shape and lose the extra pounds I have put on over the years. I don’t have a massive amount of extra weight but anyhow, I have read tons of training guides and actually find it fun to put together some new training regiments ever so often, this not to lose interest in training.
I watch pro wrestling and MMA and there’s always lots of talk about how people stay in shape and the perfect physique is always displayed. And I do know this isn’t a new problem and exists in all media, but I’m just focusing on pro wrestling and MMA for now. This isn’t as big a problem in MMA as its in pro wrestling, but this fall there have been a few instances that have made a fair bit of press.
Lets start in MMA as I probably need to write two posts one for MMA and one for Pro-wrestling as it will take me to long to write both at once. I have been more and more annoyed with Dana White in the last months and the many stupid comments and decisions he makes. But anyhow Dana said in the resent TuF season that Nelson have “the worst physique in professional sports” and earlier Dana have said that if Roy Nelson is to fight in the UFC he needed to lose that belly.

Yes Roy Nelson hasn’t a chiselled physic but he has won season 10 of the ultimate fighter a former IFL Heavy weight champion. He is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Renzo Gracie. So he is a legitimate fighter and I also called him being the winner of the TuF 10 season, when I heard that he was partaking in the reality show.
The UFC is trying to distance themselves from its past where fighters like Tank Abbott ruled the octagon, they want chiselled and charismatic and skilled fighters like Georges “Rush” St-Pierre, Roy Nelson is two of those things.

Going back a few years I recently came across a list of the top ten stories of the past 10 years from the sherdog website. On number three there is Bob Sapp and how the Japanese people where fascinated with his sheer size, he had a chiselled physic and he could sort of fight back in the day. He last suffered a loss to the former amateur wrestler Bobby Lashley, who now has signed with Strikeforce. Bobby Lashley is also doing Pro-wrestling currently in TNA but I will probably talk more about that later.

Bob Sapp

Bobby Lashley
Lets look at the Japanese “freak show” element of the MMA scene. The Japanese and asian market have been known to put on “freak show” MMA bouts from time to time. The first thing that comes to mind is Choi Hong-man or Hong man-Choi a 7’2” 300+ pound freak of nature, not a very good fighter but he has the size and look that the Japanese like. Another thing that comes to mind is the use of Akebono in both MMA and Pro-wrestling matches.
Also on the sherdog list is the fighter that is a called the face of female MMA Gina Carano, and this brings me to talk about the females in MMA and Pro wrestling. The reason why I started writing this blog post in the first place, Gina daughter of a famous NFL QB.

Gina Carano - American Gladiators
Gina at a weigh in and competing in American Gladiators, she is according to information 5′ 8″ tall and roughly 140 pounds. I would actually put her weight around 155-160 pounds as she has had problems cutting weight before fights and coming in heavy. She is considered the face of female mixed martial arts, she is a talented fighter and was undefeated until she meet Cris Cyborg Santos and got destroyed. This was a marketed as a classic beauty vs beast match up, but Cris was just to big to strong and manhandled Gina in their fight It wasn’t even close. Gina hasn’t fought or even trained since the loss on August 15 2009. But the MMA world hopes that she can come back a put together a few wins to build for a rematch with Cyborg to be a big PPV draw.

Cris Cyborg Santos

Gina Carano
Cris Cyborg is the same height as Gina 5’8” and billed as weighing 145 pounds i would also put her weight closer to 155-160, this is walking around weight. So both fighters are in my opinion a lot heaver than their fighting weight class but that nothing new as most fighter cut at least 15 pounds to make their fighting weight, but that another discussion.

There has been lots of talk about how unfeminine Cris looks and that Gina is fat and has cancles but nonetheless there is talk about Cris doing a playboy shoot during 2010 but that’s still unconfirmed. This has me thinking of the playboy shoots Jonie Lauer did while being with the WWE but more on that later when I dive into the Pro wrestling aspect of this in part II.
I have run across some old TNA wrestling episodes. I only watch WWE and have never watched TNA until now. My interest was peaked when the rumors of the Monday night wars II started again, with TNA bringing in Hogan and all the all WCW guys to turn TNA around. Me never watched TNA is a lie when I come to think about it, I actually watched a few episodes or parts of them when Kurt Angle debut for them a few years back. So going back almost a full year started watching a few episodes from April 2009 and was utterly surprised how bad the shows where. Starting with them having lame titles, many of them word plays on the TNA catchphrase crossing the line examples of this was: Cactus crossing the line, who’s side is he one…cant remember all of the super lame stuff they came up with. And apparently they keep naming their episodes still, I heard a rumor that the naming in Vince Russo wanting to be a TV series writer and that’s why he names the shows.
The entrance music is all low-budget stuff and instrumental for the most part and the music is so generic it hurts to listen to them. One of the only themes I have heard so far with lyrics is the Suicide theme, which brings me to the Suicide character. This character made exclusively for the TNA video game and the storyline according to the lyrics for his song, Hes Coming Alive Suicide Come Alive so he is a video game character come alive.
[
So this character comes down to the ring on a rope, and this just makes me cringe awkwardly as it brings back memories of Owen Hart. And having a character named Suicide, just poor taste but that’s Vince Russo for ya. He then has a ring pose which has him put his fingers to his temple as a gun, faking a suicide. At this time the Suicide character is played by Christopher Daniels as Kaz was injured.
The women’s division in TNA is pretty good, it was supposedly way better before Gail Kim and the booker left, but anyhow. Its currently plagued by really long promos and segments, like one night with ODB. I like the ODB character and Awesome Kong as they aren’t the stereotypical WWE Divas and bring something new to the product. The long promos plague the entire show the Main Event Mafia have long boring promos several times during each show. I really cant be bothered about this story line, the only thing that’s funny about it is Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner rambling about girls and other stuff. And the other thing is Booker T being dumb and having Sharmell call all the shoots with the management.
Another character is Samoa Joe the nation of violence, they have a baby face character who run around stalking people and attacking them with a big knife. In the PPV match with Joe vs. Steiner the commentators play out that Joe might have killed Steiner after the match as Joe was covered in blood and Steiner was nowhere to be found. This is a throwback to the late 90′s story lines which might not be to new and exiting 10-15 years later. And they have Joe attacking other TNA characters and stringing them up and threatening to cut them, its a mature theme storyline but not preformed convincingly. And to top this off Steiner shows up on TV the following week with a lame mask/hoody because he was mutilated by Joe and the following week Steiner comes out as normal, way to follow through on your storyline TNA.
There is many older preformers in TNA at this time, April 2009 and its going to get a lot worse as Hogan and his buddys come in January 4th 2010 but I havent watched that yet only read and watched vlogs about it. It looks like its going to be a real trainwreck for TNA in 2010.
Fuuny note from Jericho:
Chris Jericho wrote on Twitter: Bischoffs right I can’t headline in TNA…cos I’m not in my 50s.
In yesterday’s “State of the Union” address, Eric Bischoff said that he never crapped on Jericho, likes him, but doesn’t think he can headline.
So last month I watched a few films that was particularly sad and depressing, and I’m going to recap them very briefly here. I have lots of other blog posts that I have started but never finished, I recently remembered that I started a end of year post last year but never finished it. It was about how two years ago many of my “heroes” fell and I’m planning on concluding that post and maybe do a recap of the last decade from my perspective dealing mainly with MMA and Professional wrestling and how the last decade have changed the landscape. I know that many of the blogs and podcast I follow have done the same thing and I’m probably going to rehash some of the same things that they have to say.
Some other things I’m planning on to have written before the weekend is a post on the NFL playoffs and my summary of my picks for the regular season. I also have a little post on why I follow the Dallas Cowboys that I’m going to post when I’m finished writing it. Some other things I have started to write but never gotten around to finish are a short rant on the perception of weight in MMA and professional wrestling, fitting for after the Christmas holidays.
Well I rambled for long enough now on to the movies I watched. Remember if you haven’t seen any of these movies there might be spoilers, so read at your own risk.
The Reader
Here is a recap from imdb about this movie
Post-WWII Germany: Nearly a decade after his affair with an older woman came to a mysterious end, law student Michael Berg re-encounters his former lover as she defends herself in a war-crime trial.
As I never read summaries of movies before I watch them not to spoil anything, I had no idea what I was in for. I thought It was a good movie and the story and feel of the movie felt genuine and well played out. The actors didn’t over dramatise and try and sugar coat much of the general plot in this film which was good. There where many points in which the audience where forced to draw there own conclusions about the characters motives. You got the feeling early on in the story where it all was heading, but as I hadn’t read the synopsis of the film I had know idea about the major plot-point which probably was obvious to most other viewers.
Have read a few comments on the film and many of those comments are about Kate Winslet and her boobs, *sigh* if that all you take away from the movie then I pity you.
I actually thought that they would reunite in the end, but i guess after the final talk she decided that she needed to atone for what she had done. I could go into the ending and buildup in more detail but that would spoil to much if you haven’t seen the movie and still read this far.
The End of Time Part II
I know I have written about this recently but I actually felt genuinely sad when watching the two parter as I knew that this was probably the last time I was going to see David Tennant as the Doctor barring the inevitable X amount of Doctors special, but Ill save that topic for another time.
The ending was really sad and fitting to repeat what I said in a previous post about this episode. When I watched the confidential episode I felt sadder in a way then actually watching the episode as the confidential was more drawn out as you didn’t have the story and other things to focus on. Just that this was the final shoots for David Tennant, I really liked how he didn’t tell people that in this scene I its the final time I sonic something and so forth. I really hope that David will be successful with his new projects, and I will buy the Hamlet DVD when Its available as Im sure he will be brilliant in that as well.
The Time Traveler’s wife
I decided to watch this film as it had to do with time.travell and hope that it would cheer me up, but I should have read the synopsis!
From imdb
A romantic drama about a Chicago librarian with a gene that causes him to involuntarily time travel, and the complications it creates for his marriage.
If you have read or watched these kinds of films before you wont be surprised in how it ends. But the story is told adequately and the actors do a good job nothing to complain about. The big upside of this movie was that its a timeless love story, pardon the pun and not focused on the scientific nature of time travel. It has some good family oriented problems that the time travel creates, not to spoil anything to much.
This is actually a book that I might read in the future as It seams to be quite good and well written from what I have read in other review of it.
Well that’s it for tonight cant be bothered writing any more, seeya on the flipside.
Haven’t written in a while now but that’s about to change. Coming of UFC 100 and the massive amount of bad press the defending UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesner is getting for his promo in the ring after destroying his opponent Frank Mir. For starters I’m a pro wrestling fan, have been watching pro wrestling on an off since the mid 80′s didn’t watch wrestling in the mid 90′s because it wasn’t on TV here in Sweden at that time.
After UFC 100 Dana White had a go at Brock for acting up and cutting a promo…WTF ripping on one of the biggest sponsors on live TV that was stupid but the other stuff. Brock told Mir that Mir could talk all the shit he wanted because he just got owned, which is all fine in my book. Brock didn’t shake hands with Mir and didn’t do the usual shake hands and hugs after the bout have ended BIG F*CKING DEAL
I have a big problem with all the hugfests that go on in the octagon after every round and after the fights, If something is fake and pro wrestling its all the fake bad blood that goes into matches trying to build up big PPV numbers. Almost every fight that isn’t between already established fighters relies on bad blood match ups in the pre-fight-buildup and as soon as the fight is over the combatants are BFF again I CALL BULLSHIT!
So Brock actually took all the smack talk to heart and donkey-konged Mir and told him so after the fight. Brock has said that he liked getting booed and preforms better and the crowed at UFC 100 was going to boo him regardless what happened that night, so why not take advantage of it. Leading up to the fight Mir was saying a lot of shitty things about Brock and they showed that on TV
Frank Mir has claimed that Brock Lesnar is an embarrassment to the sport of MMA, and that he embarrassed himself and his children.
Frank also said that Brock was a lousy fighter and he had no power in his G’N'P
In my opinion the things said on TV where a lot worse than what Brock said, but Brock said it live so Dana was pissed he wasn’t involved? The things Dana said about Loretta Hunt is leaps and bounds worse than anything Brock said. And the thing between Dana and Tito, but apparently they have kissed and made up recently possible due to video game rights or Chuck Lidell wanting a fight he can win before really calling it quits, but that’s a topic for a later blog.
Brock did around 925.000 buys when he fought Cotoure for the title and the early estimates are around 1.5 million for UFC 100 so Brock is a big draw. So in my opinion you should let the fighters be fighters and if they don’t respect each other then they don’t need to hug and make nice just because they just fought. I also think that the fighters have respect for the time training that goes into the preparation for the fight, but they don’t need to respect them as a person. Look at all other sports Football, Boxing, Hockey just to name a few rivalries equals bigger TV ratings and bigger PPV ratings.
